The Gray Wolf
The gray wolf is an endangered species. Its scientific name is Canis Lupus. There are about 8,000 wolves in Alaska. In the lower 48 states there are less than 3,000 gray wolves. Humans have had a huge impact on them. Illegal killing and humans moving into areas near the the wolves habitat have caused a decline in the number of gray wolves.

Help in the Protection of this Beautiful Animal
The gray wolves are a species that needs to be protected. They are necessary to the environment because the keep other animals from becoming overpopulated. The best way to protect them is to make more laws restricting the killing of wolves, relocating some of the wolves to areas farther away from people, and to make areas where people are not aloud to build in.
